Strategic Communications & Fund Development
Lisa Alpert is a nonprofit strategist and communications professional with more than 15 years of experience helping mission-driven organizations expand their impact, strengthen community relationships, and secure the resources needed to advance meaningful change.
At Parent Leadership Training Institute – Kansas City (PLTI-KC), Lisa leads strategic communications and fund development efforts, helping elevate the organization's impact, cultivate relationships with funders and community partners, and build the resources needed to expand opportunities for parent leadership.
Lisa is also the founder and owner of Manifest Collaborative, a Kansas City-based strategic communications, public relations, and nonprofit fundraising firm. Through Manifest Collaborative, she has partnered with education policy and advocacy organizations, including Quality Schools Coalition and Activate Missouri, supporting efforts to elevate parent voices, strengthen family engagement, and advance more equitable education systems. Prior to founding Manifest Collaborative, Lisa held senior leadership positions with several prominent Kansas City organizations, including the American Jazz Museum, The Giving Grove, Kansas City Parks and Recreation, Greater Kansas City LISC, and United Way of Greater Kansas City. Throughout her career, she has led successful fundraising initiatives, organizational rebranding efforts, strategic partnerships, and communications campaigns that connect communities with opportunities for lasting impact.
Lisa's work is grounded in the belief that lasting change happens when the people most affected by decisions have the tools, relationships, and opportunities to help shape them. She is particularly passionate about the power of storytelling to shift narratives, build connections, and ensure that parents and caregivers are recognized as leaders and essential partners in creating stronger communities.
As a Kansas City-area parent herself, Lisa brings both professional expertise and a personal commitment to ensuring families have a meaningful voice in the decisions that shape their children's futures.
