PLTI Means to Me…

I have learned and grown so much as a parent and as a person through my experience in PLTI! This Cohort and Facilitation/Leadership Team inspired me each and every week. Even on days where I didn't feel like I had it in me to participate, that feeling quickly faded as soon as the session started. I have made connections in this cohort that I will hold on to forever, and learned valuable life lessons about myself, my family, and my community!

PLTI Means to Me…

PLTI has taught me how to use my voice effectively for change. I had never before reached out to media to do an article, wrote testimony for City budget meeting or for State of Mo HB prior to PLTI. I always wanted change, but never new how to inject myself into change. I do now and beyond thankful for the knowledge, connections, and support this experience provided and will continue to provide.

PLTI Means to Me…

Grace. Grace to be weak. Grace to still lead. Grace to be seen as we grow in our maturity and capacity to lead. A journey of recognizing our power and standing in confidence to walk in that power. The value of intentional connection to shared growth and the development of skill and passion.

Parenting Memoir - adding diverse voices to the narratives of parenting

PLTI Means to Me…

PLTI has opened my eyes to the vision of democracy and directly challenged my thoughts about my role as a citizen. I'm surrounded by people who are jaded about the systems that govern our lives, and for good reason. But I don't have to feel powerless. PLTI has given me knowledge about the ways that change happens and empowered me to act.

PLTI Means to Me…

PLTI means to me growth and and finding my power. These 20 weeks have opened doors and brightened a light inside me that was beginning to dim. The amount of self exploration and growth was unexpected but has been the best part of this journey. This program has been essential to how I understand, view and perceive city government and policies that affect me and my family.
