PLTI Means to Me…

I am so grateful for my time spent in PLTI, for being in community with so many strong parent leaders, having tough conversations about systemic issues and inequities in a supportive environment, and for being encouraged to stretch and learn. PLTI has inspired and motivated me to seek more opportunities for community engagement to work towards equity for children and families, and has helped me learn skills to effectively advocate as a parent.

PLTI Means to Me…

PLTI is a coalition of individuals with common interests that work together by gathering resources for a specific goal. Throughout this program, I've become more self-aware of the way I show up in certain spaces. I've gained a sense of purpose and I've gained lifelong friends.

PLTI Means to Me…

I have valued my experience in PLTI. It has provided a strong sense of community with a diverse group of people that have one common goal; advocating for what's best for our children. This collective goal has created a strong sense of community that I look forward to carrying on through my future endeavors.

The tools and perspective that I have gained through PLTI have helped me put passion to purpose by providing tools to follow through on goals, which has helped to hold myself accountable. I am so thankful for what I've learned and the relationships that have formed through PLTI!

PLTI Means to Me…

In addition to the wealth of knowledge and greater awareness of critical issues affecting children and families, PLTI has given me the confidence to use my voice. I never would have imagined I would be advocating for children’s issues in our State Capitol! Through the support of the cohort and program leadership, I have truly stretched out of my comfort zone and this is only the beginning….!

Many thanks to Julie and the facilitators for creating life changing experiences for myself and the program participants. You make Kansas City much brighter!

PLTI Means to Me…

PLTI came into my life at a divine time, the right time. The message PLTI shares there is a support system to learn to advocate for your child/children. This connection within my own cohort is the most amazing part of my week that I enjoy the most in a very long time. I have gained more motivation to move forward in a different direction I never saw myself in ten years ago or even five years ago. I am glad to have been a part of this process, it is life changing. PLTI is the people I have been looking for so many years that want to advocate for the better of the marginalized and the underserved. That is worth its weight in gold.

PLTI Means to Me…

I’ll forever be grateful to those that continue to be my biggest teachers - fellow parents and those that care deeply for our children. Our time spent doing the deep work individually & in community together has shaped how I lead, how I parent, and how I show up in many spaces.
